On the 11th June 2019, 29 Product Design and Business students visited the Jaguar Land Rover factory in Halewood.
On arrival they were given a talk about the company as a whole and careers that are available within the automotive design and manufacturing sector.
After a health and safety briefing they were taken on a tour around the factory. The students were able to see how a car is manufactured from rolls of aluminium to the final product: a newly built Range Rover Evoque undergoing final quality control tests.
Throughout the tour students learnt about the importance of robots in manufacturing. This will be help them when it comes to both their Design Technology and Business examinations in Year 11. Some students were also able to ask questions regarding future careers in the factory itself.
