Last week we took a group of Year 7 students along to a careers event being held at St George’s Hall. This event had been organised by JCP and other local civil service partners and was specifically aimed at younger secondary school students from Liverpool schools. There were over 40 employers attending and the students were able to participate in carousel of interactive activities throughout the day. Some of these activities included working with trainee paramedics on CPR techniques, investigating cyber security and attending a mock trial with barristers. The students particularly enjoyed the session with staff from the Prison service and their search dogs. Students were able to see how staff conduct searches in prisons for contraband items.
The students were a credit to our school and were really engaged with each of the different careers sessions. This event will have no doubt supported them as they begin to investigate possible career options after school.
