Through our partnership with Into University North Liverpool, a group of our Year 10 students visited EY (Ernst and Young) at their prestigious city centre offices in Chapel Street overlooking the River Mersey and Liver Buildings. The purpose of the day was to help our students develop their interpersonal and business skills through a series of tasks based around a mock global games bid.
Team Madrid competed against Team Chicago to try and successfully win the bid to host the games. Every member of the respective teams had a designated job role and needed to meet the requirements of the business brief within the set time. Roles included Finance Manager, Marketing Manager and Creative Director. Working alongside the students were members of staff from EY who were on hand to offer suggestions and support. EY are a global professional services organisation who support businesses through accountancy, HR and IT amongst other things.
After the final presentation the winners were declared as Team Madrid! Not only did our students get the opportunity to develop some key skills they were also able to find out more about the apprenticeship and graduate training opportunities at EY as well. The feedback from the students was very positive and we look forward to bringing another group next year.
