6th Form EnvironLent

April 5, 2019

The 6th form contribution to EnvironLENT has been to raise money for ethical lending projects in the developing world. Ethical lending projects are small business enterprises that need a helping hand to get off the ground, for example, people ask for help towards buying land to grow rice or to buy piglets for a farming project. Various groups of people donate an amount to help an individual enterprise (or more than one); the website lendwithcare.org gives more information. Our students have been raising money through raffling Easter eggs and a 'guess the number of eggs in the basket' fundraiser, as well as collecting small change every day. When we count up our combined total, we will decide which ethical projects to help for our Lenten challenge.
