Liverpool School Sports Partnership held a Futsal tournament at Toxteth FireFit Hub on Tuesday 16th October. Once again, it was a fantastic opportunity put for our pupils to compete against other schools in the city. The boys were split into separate teams and competed against some of the top schools from around the city. They came through the group stage on top, after securing 4 wins and a draw. They then played St Hilda’s in a high intensity, highly competitive semi-final that went to a penalty shootout; the boys scored each of their kicks and Josh Davidson saved the penultimate spot kick taking the boys through to the final.
In the final they played against King David in another highly competitive fixture. This again was another ‘nail biter’ that went to penalties, with every member of the team being required to step up and take a penalty. The boys showed great levels of courage, confidence and commitment to each other during the competition and they were rewarded with another victory in the final.
I would like to place on record my congratulations to all of the boys involved and wish them every success for the future. I would also like to thank LSSP for hosting these events as they provide a fantastic opportunity for the pupils of the city to test their skills against one another.
Congratulations to you all!
