Rome trip update

The Religious Education department has arranged a trip to Rome to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the canonisation of St Julie Billiart, the founder of the Notre Dame Community.  All Notre Dame Schools across the UK will be joining together for this very special occasion. The tour will be organised by Voyager School Travel who specialise in Adventure/Educational/Language/Ski tours for schools.



A suggested itinerary for the trip is shown below:


Day 1: Flight from Manchester - Rome (flight times to be confirmed). Meet your coach and transfer to the hotel. Arrive hotel and check-in. Drop off your bags and enjoy a guided walking tour of Rome (price included) to explore the amazing Ancient sites. See the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Church of St Clemente, Pantheon and more! Evening meal in local restaurant.


Day 2: Breakfast. Morning visit to Vatican and Sistine Chapel (price not included) Afternoon visit to San Callisto Catacombs (entry and tour included).  Evening meal in local restaurant.


Day 3  Breakfast. Meet with Notre Dame Schools and enjoy a day together. Evening meal in a local restaurant.


Day 4: Full day sightseeing in Rome - St Peter’s Cathedral, climb St Peter’s Dome for 360 degree views across the city, the sea and to the Alban Hills, Frascati and Sabbine mountains (price not included). Afternoon visits to Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum (entries included).


Colosseum: When in Rome you have to visit its most famous landmark, the Colosseum. A visit to the Colosseum is like stepping back in time and a great insight into Roman history for your students.

Forum: The Roman Forum is another place you must visit in Rome and your ticket to the Colosseum includes entry to this amazing ancient site. Palatine Hill: A trip to Palatine Hill is usually combined with a visit to to the Colosseum and Forum. It offers amazing views of Rome. Augustus, Cicero and Marc Antony all lived on the Hill so you are in good company. Evening meal in local restaurant.


Day 5: Breakfast. Check-out of hotel. If flight time allows, free time for shopping. Travel by coach back to Rome airport. Return flight back to the UK.


What the price does not include:

Entrances other than those specified as included.

Public transport to get around Rome.

Lunches & meals en route, & drinks with meals other than breakfast,



Final payment: Thursday 11th April 2019 £368 approximately
