Year 7 Boys Merseyside County Schools League Champions

May 22, 2018

We would like to give a huge congratulations to our Year 7 boys’ football team on becoming Merseyside County Schools League Champions! This is an outstanding achievement for the boys and also the school, in only their first season playing together as a team.

The boys have participated in the league held every other Thursday at the home of the County FA, Walton Hall Park since November. During this time and these fixtures the boys have demonstrated some outstanding traits that represent everything we aim to develop in our pupils in Notre Dame. They have participated to the best of their ability and achieved some outstanding results throughout the course of the season across all competitions. The pupils have represented the school to the highest possible calibre every time they have played, showing resilience and determination in games when they have had to respond to difficult situations to achieve results. They have also shown fantastic team spirit that continues to grow each week that passes and they have demonstrated this by giving 100% for each other every time they are on the pitch. The spirit which these pupils have shown in all aspects of this season whether playing competitively or training, embodies everything we strive for at Notre Dame.  I cannot put into words how much admiration and respect I have for the pupils and how they have applied themselves to become county champions this year, they are a pleasure to coach and long may it continue!
