Shakespeare off by Heart

December 14, 2017

On Friday 24th November 2017 Notre Dame Catholic College held the first Shakespeare off by Heart competition. 13 pupils took part and recited parts from Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar and The Merchant of Venice. The pupils practiced hard and long and the result was fantastic!

Natalia Roda was one of the pupils who took part, here is what she has to say about the event.

“It was scary at first but when I got up there and started to say my lines I felt fantastic,” she went on to say. “The atmosphere was great and the pupils observing were very encouraging.”

It was a tough decision said the judges Mrs Harrison and Mr McKeon but in the end Lucie from 7 Eileen was victorious. Lucie won an early lunch for her form and free toast for her form as well.

Due to all the pupils hard work they have won a trip to the Empire Theatre to watch Cinderella, well done!
