Knowsley Youth Mutual with Year 11 – Alcohol Awareness

November 24, 2017

Over the past five weeks, year 11 have been taking part in some fantastic workshops with Knowsley Youth Mutual on alcohol awareness. This has been building up towards Alcohol Awareness Week (November 17th - 23rd) which highlights the dangers of alcohol use and misuse by underage youths.

The workshops have focused on alcohol and the law, the consequences of use and misuse of alcohol, pressures and gateways to alcohol misuse and dangers of alcohol misuse.

These workshops run by youth worker Charlotte Brookes and her team from KYM, have allowed our students to engage and confidently speak about problems associated with alcohol abuse. KYM offered information, advice and support to the difficult questions our students had about drinking and the problems that can sometimes be caused by alcohol use.

Alcohol awareness week campaigns for a different drinking culture, with the bigger aim of creating a society in which alcohol does no harm.
