Trip to Liverpool Town Hall

On Tuesday 28th November 2017, we went to discuss student attendance at the Schools Parliament. We began the afternoon by talking about previous meetings and finding out what is happening with those matters now. During our break, we had the opportunity to take some photos around the Town Hall, before starting the debate. After this, we talked about the issue of low attendance rates in Liverpool schools. Firstly, we spoke about why attending school is so important. Some of the things that were brought up were: Missing out on important lessons means that you may not get the GCSE grades that you are capable of, and not socialising with your friends may lead to you feeling alone or isolated. Shakespeare off by Heart

On Friday 24th November 2017 Notre Dame Catholic College held the first Shakespeare off by Heart competition. 13 pupils took part and recited parts from Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar and The Merchant of Venice. The pupils practiced hard and long and the result was fantastic! Notre Dame receives The Quality in Careers Standard Award

We are delighted to announce that Notre Dame has been reaccredited The Quality in Careers Standard Award. This award is nationally recognised and demonstrates that our careers programme meets the very stringent national standards.

Catholic Choir Competition 2017

Congratulations to the College Chamber Choir who won the Catholic Schools Choir Competition for the second year running last week. The competition, hosted by St. Julie's, featured 4 schools: St. John Bosco, St. Nicholas', Notre Dame and St. Julie's. The standard was extremely high with a wide range of material and singing styles however, the judges voted Notre Dame to be the winners followed by St. Julie's as the runner up.
