WJEC GCSE Home Economics: Child Development
A course in Child Development which offers the opportunity for pupils to develop their knowledge and extend their skills within a vocational context, give pupils the chance to focus on the early years sector, supporting progression to a more specialised level 3 course, employment or an apprenticeship. It provides opportunities to develop pupils’ interdisciplinary skills, a range of Key Skills covering topics such as, parenthood, pregnancy, diet, health and caring for a child, development of the child and how to support parents and children.
BTEC Level 3 National Award in Children’s Care Learning and Development
Working with children can be fun, exciting and rewarding whilst opening up a broad range of career opportunities. This course gives pupils a solid foundation in understanding how to care for children and how they learn and develop. The course supports progression to a more specialised university course, employment or an apprenticeship. Assessment consists of 5 mandatory units to reach a total of 360 GLH. The units are to be completed over 2 years and grades are awarded as Pass, Merit and Distinction.
