Friends of Notre Dame (FOND)
FOND was set
up in September 2003. It was
felt that the time was right
to bring together the
goodwill and passion that
parents and guardians have
for their daughters’
college.
Being part
of FOND does not involve
endless meetings and giving
up the little spare time
that you have, it is more
about lots of different
people contributing whatever
time that they feel they can
spare. Usually we will meet
one Monday every month for
approximately one hour, the
rest is down to members to
decide what you can and can
not do.
The success
of FOND can help parents to
improve the college and
share common concerns. It is
also an excellent way to
find out more about how the
college works and will give
you the chance to get to
know other parents/guardians
whilst taking part in a
range of exciting
activities.
So far FOND
has organised a few
different types of
fundraising activities such
as seasonal raffles, a
college disco and a
Christmas gift-ordering
service. All of these
activities have meant that
your daughters will receive
a richer education as a
result of items that will be
bought with the raised
funds.
Keep these
points in mind and remember
that people get involved for
different reasons. It may be
an outlet for someone’s
cake-making passion. For
someone else, perhaps new to
the area, it may offer a way
of getting to know the
community. For others, being
a member of FOND is about
getting stuck in and
organising raffles, running
fairs and fetes, barbecues,
fashion shows or quiz
evenings or they may simply
enjoy volunteering ideas.
They all make valuable
contributions to the success
of FOND.
If you would
like to become a FOND member
and/or find out more details
please do not hesitate to

college office on
